Welcome to Aberdour

Aberdour is small village, of approximately 1,600 residents, in South West Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. Lying just across the Forth estuary from Edinburgh it is perfectly situated for visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the rest of Central Scotland. Not that Aberdour is short of attractions itself; with a High Street full of independent shops, two award winning beaches (including one prestegious Blue Flag winner) and a Castle whose previous owners have included the Regent of Scotland. Add to that some fantastic local hotels, restaurants and hostelries, and you have the perfect place to visit.

How to get here

Aberdour is very well connected for a village of its size.
Trains to and from Edinburgh depart every 30 minutes during most of the day, with an hourly frequency at all other times - journey time is just 30 minutes by train. Not only is this the greenest option, but likely the cheapest. For more info see www.scotrail.co.uk

Aberdour has an excellent local bus service, operated by Stagecoach in Fife with a frequency of approximately 20 minutes for much of the day between Leven in East Fife and Dunfermline (Service 7). An hourly bus service operates to and from Ferrytoll Park & Ride, for connections to Edinburgh - a few peak buses also continue into Edinburgh. Journey time on direct buses is approximately 50 minutes.
